Revive Your Phone is organized by aSmartWorld and the Green Office of KU Leuven and aims at collecting the smartphones and tablets you no longer use to give them a second life. By contributing to this action, you can have a positive impact on both the environment and society.
For 5 functional smartphones we collect through donations, aSmartWorld gives one to an association in Belgium.
For every smartphone you resell through our website, aSmartWorld donates 2 euros to an association in Belgium which aims to reduce the digital divide.
The Green Office for KUL is a sustainability organization for and by students. Its mission is to make KU Leuven and its population more sustainable, in all its facets. Integrated in the university’s Sustainability Office, students and staff members work together towards this goal through several projects, events and campaigns such as Revive Your Phone.
aSmartWorld collects, refurbishes, and redistributes smartphones and tablets based on a circular economy model as well as local distribution channels. The firm estimates the value of the devices to give them a second (or a third) life. The firm treats them according to precise quality and security standards.
You have a smartphone/tablet you no longer use? Resell or donate it!
If you wish to donate, simply bring your smartphone(s) or tablet(s) to the nearest collection box.
In case you wish to resell your device(s), go here and fill in the trade-in form.
Follow the steps below to give or resell your devices.
In order to give a second life to your device, we take the models :
If the device you wish to give is too damaged, or the model is older than those indicated, it is possible we may not be able to take it back. In that case, you can donate it through the collection boxes and the device will be recycled by our partner Wilmet Group.
We erase all your data using a program certified by ADISA, a data protection company, to ensure that there can be no data recovery.
Of course! We take your damaged smartphones and get them repaired so that we can give them a new life (whether for the secondor third time). If the glass on the front or back is cracked, it doesn’t mean that your smartphone has to be thrown away.
That is not necessary. We suggest you reuse these accessories with your new smartphone or give them to other people who might use them.
